Against a bright blue sky, a small white baseball with big animated eyes and a mouth floats over the iconic spire of the Empire State Building. The ball's stitched mouth is open wide in a scream as its stick-figure arms flail through the air. "Yaaaaahhh!" the baseball yells in a panic, leaving a trail of zig-zagging motion lines behind it as it sails through the sky. The towering art deco skyscraper stands stoically below, the tiny screams of tourists visible as specks on the observation deck. In the next panel, the baseball is in freefall, mouth still agape in a shriek. Motion lines surround its body as it plummets down the side of the building. The ball's eyes are comically wide with fear. The final panel shows the baseball bonking a bemused man in a fedora on the head as he walks down the crowded city sidewalk. The man's eyes whirl from the impact as the baseball bounces away, mouth curved in a dazed grin. Around them, people continue on their way, oblivious to the falling ball.
